QTNMHPHC IS A NETWORK OF QUEER MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS, SUPPORTERS, AND ALLIES FOCUSED ON PROVIDING QUEER-AFFIRMATIVE MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES, RESOURCES, AND SUPPORT.

Queer Therapy Network MHP Houston Chapter provides a network of certified queer-affirming mental health professionals, supporters, and allies who collectively service queer community members and their families with mental health services, resources, and support.

Our chapter and programs offers mental health services, continued educational training, networking events, member directories, resources, webinars, and seminars, and reports to become more aware and knowledgeable about the unique challenges and needs of LGBTQIA+ people.

In addition, creating partnerships with other educational institutions that have a strong track record of training queer-affirming mental health professionals, mental health associations, and organizations that can provide expertise and support ultimately meeting the demand for queer-affirming mental health professionals working together and creating a world where queer people can receive the mental healthcare they need.

IT'S TIME TO CHANGE

HOW QUEER COMMUNITY MEMBERS ACCESS MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES

Queer people experience a higher rate of mental health disorders partly due to the intersecting oppressions of homophobia, transphobia, and biphobia therefore queer-affirming mental health professionals are critical in the lives of queer individuals and families.

They provide a safe and welcoming space for those who may not feel comfortable or supported, affirm queer identities, and help individuals explore and understand their personal struggles with mental health and gender identity.
