BHSA EMPLOYER NETWORK

Become a partner with the BHSA Behavioral Health Apprenticeship Program!

The BHSA Behavioral Health Apprenticeship Program works to improve the quality and availability of queer-affirming mental health professionals and services for people with mental health and substance abuse disorders. BHSA represents the interests of its apprentices by partnering with employers and behavioral health organizations to provide apprentices with the hands-on training to work in the behavioral health field.  Having employers are crucial to our program as we build the next generation of culturally competent, knowledgeable and compassionate mental health professionals.

To be eligible for the BHSA Employer Partnership:

-Employer must be a licensed behavioral health provider or business in the state of Texas.

-Employer must be current on all state licensing requirements.

-Employer must have the capacity to provide stipends and/or salaries to apprentices.

-Employer must be committed to offering on-the-job training and supervision to apprentices.

-Employer must be committed to providing apprenticeship opportunities to underrepresented populations, including people of color, LGBTQIA+ people, people with disabilities, and people from low-income backgrounds.

-Employer must be willing to participate in the BHSA-led apprenticeship training and assessment webinar.
